THE ROLE
The Appointment
LIFEGUARD is seeking a discreet, disciplined and highly reliable Junior Close Protection Officer to support a foreign mission in Vienna, Austria.
The position is suited to an individual with prior military, law-enforcement or professional security experience who wishes to develop further within a sensitive, international and protocol-driven environment.
The successful candidate will support protective planning, secure movements, event and delegation security, situational awareness and day-to-day protective-support duties for authorised mission personnel and visitors.

Responsibilites
- Supporting close protection and protective-support duties for authorised mission personnel, guests and visiting delegations
- Assisting with secure movements, official appointments, airport transfers and event-related security arrangements
- Maintaining situational awareness and identifying relevant safety or security concerns
- Supporting advance preparation for routes, venues, meetings and official visits
- Assisting with vehicle, movement and arrival/departure coordination where required
- Maintaining a discreet, professional and non-intrusive protective presence
- Liaising appropriately with mission personnel, approved service providers and relevant counterparts
- Supporting incident reporting, escalation procedures and emergency preparedness
- Maintaining strict confidentiality at all times
- Carrying out security-sensitive duties only as authorised, trained, licensed and legally permitted
Candiate Profile
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Prior military, law-enforcement or professional security experience
- A disciplined, calm and reliable manner
- Strong situational awareness and sound judgement
- Excellent standards of personal presentation, discretion and punctuality
- A high sense of order, cleanliness and attention to detail
- Physical fitness appropriate to the responsibilities of the role
- The ability to operate confidently in formal, diplomatic and international environments
- Professional restraint and the ability to remain composed under pressure
- Good communication skills and appropriate manners
- Flexibility regarding working hours, including occasional evenings, weekends or short-notice assignments
- Good spoken and written English
- German language capability is strongly preferred
- A valid driving licence is required
Eligibility & Security Vetting
Due to the sensitive nature of the appointment, all shortlisted candidates will be subject to background and security screening, including review by relevant law-enforcement and state security authorities.
Candidates must be able to meet all employment, vetting, licensing, training and legal-eligibility requirements applicable to the assignment.
Any armed, regulated or specially authorised duty is strictly conditional upon formal approval, appropriate licensing, assignment-specific training and full compliance with applicable law.
